Guys, are you wondering if the guy from the gym ever called me or chatted me up? After he collected my number, remember I didn’t hear from him at all.

Well, so we bumped into each other. 😃 Guess where….and when.

We met on Sunday, the Sunday after the Monday that he collected my number. 😂😂😂 The Holy Spirit had been nudging me to start attending church seriously and so on that Sunday, I was just driving around the area, looking for a church, waiting for direction from Him.

I saw a RCCG church close to my estate gate and drove in, that’s where He wanted me to attend. Once I entered, I knew I was in the right place. The choir was awesome, the Worrrdddd, chai! 🔥🔥🔥

It entered me like the pastor knew I was coming to church that day. Boy, was I glad to be in service that day. That officially became my church, stamped by the Holy Ghost Himself, no shaking! 😎

See ehn, me I didn’t come out when they wanted to celebrate newcomers oh, I contemplated it but changed my mind. 😂

I know some of you reading this are like me, but some!! Because of the first-timers package they would gladly go out, even if it’s a pen and a notebook. 😃

Back to my gist! So, service ended and we were all trouping out of the church. That’s how I got to my car and two guys were standing beside the boot, facing each other and talking. I could only see their sides.

Woo, me I just went to open the driver’s side and was about to get in when I heard my name from one of the guys. I rolled my eyes in my head, like una no dey tire? How did you get my name so fast? You want to come and toast girl again, after church? Who toasts girls on Sunday? 🙄🙄🙄 (you should know by now I was talking to myself, not them😂)

I turned and saw that it was our brother oh, the gym guy. Ayomide. If you see the way my face lit up like 😄😄😄

“Hi Ayomide. Nice to see you again”. I said, blushingly 😅

He was like “ yeah, same here dear, didn’t know you attend this church”

“Oh, I just joined today, I’m a new member”

“That’s beautiful, I hope you were blessed?

“Yes, I was”

“Oh, pardon my manners! Meet my friend, Joshua” (the guy he was talking to when I got to my car)

…. let me not bore you with unnecessary information. That was the last time I saw uncle Joshua. But Ayomide…before I even got home sef, he sent a message on WhatsApp and that’s how we started chatting. 🙈

The next day was Monday, the same day I met him the week before. I followed my normal routine, jogged to the gym while listening to pastor Emmanuel Olanipekun, got to the gym, and as usual was minding my business. Let me admit though, that I was using one eye to look for “you know who” 😋

He didn’t disappoint. We became fast friends, he showed me different exercises, he practically became my trainer!

He was such a cool person to relate with and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed working out that day. Have I told you about his smile…oh, Lord. The way his eyes lit up when he smiled with that almost perfect dentition, blew me away every time.

But you know me na, I be hard girl. I never showed anything and I’m glad I didn’t. Because hmmm…

Let me not jump. We’ll get back to why I’m glad I didn’t show him that I was attracted to him.

Anyways, like I said, we became fast friends. I found out he was a physics teacher at one of the big secondary schools on the island and that he also sings. I think he even sang for me sef. See how God just blessed one guy with fine-ness and a sweet voice.

…..

Time had passed, I had gone for my meeting with that new client that Mr. Godwin introduced me to and I got the job. It was a huge one, that job. The man, Mr. Sam, wanted me to help him start the company designs from the scratch. He was just starting the company and needed good, capable hands so my hands were full. We had to design the logo, website, we were to handle to branding and a lot of other things. See why I had that Adhoc team?

Mr. Sam was quite a nice client, not too troublesome, so we got along well. Occasionally I would chat him up to ask some questions about the new company and we would talk on the phone for long minutes sometimes.

I think we even had to meet one or two more times.

I was so busy with the job that for like a month, Ayomide and I didn’t talk much. We would only meet at the gym once in a while. He wasn’t regular because he had to go to the school where he was teaching.

On a particular day like that, I sent a part of the job to Mr. Sam that a member of the team had handled. Apparently, he hadn’t liked it. The next thing the man did was to call me on phone and express his displeasure so calmly that I almost thought he was apologizing that my team had made a mistake on the job. Ahn ahnn..in my mind I was like, excuse me sir, if you’re angry let me know, which one is the over calmness gan.

In my opinion, the man was too calm for my liking. He rarely got angry, not like I wanted him to. It’s just typical of clients to not agree with our jobs in this line of work, graphic designing, programming, user interface. Hah, the client would complain until you got confused yourself. (lol)

This man wasn’t at all like that. And when he paid, he impressed the team and I more. He even added a few extra thousands to appreciate us for our efforts and that was how 5 months of working with him went, amongst other side gigs I did.

Ayomide called me some days after my job with Mr. Sam had ended and invited me to a group hang out, he said I could come with a friend or two.

It was to be at a decent restaurant still on the island and I agreed. The only person I could drag along was my sister, Doyin.

Hmm, that hangout was something. Nothing short of divine!

I’ll tell you all about it in the next episode. 😄

(You’ll soon know who my bae is, that’s if you don’t already know sha🙈)

Can you guess? Give it a try…lemme know.

See ya!
